Twitter Unveils New 'Manipulated Media' Policy to Limit the Impact of Deepfakes


Manipulated media and deep fakes are potentially on the rise as tools for

Misinformation. As technology becomes more accessible, it can be used to manipulate public opinion.

To combat this, Twitter has unveiled a new rule to enable the labelling of such content. This is to prompt people to reconsider the content and slow the momentum of the spread.

Google and Facebook are also launching new research and initiatives to help detect and take action on misinformation.
